Idacira Rua, “Blanca” passed peacefully on October 21, 2023. She was the loving wife of Humberto Rua.
Idacira was born in Barranquilla Colombia in 1936 to Manuel Figueroa and Leticia Figueroa and emigrated to the United States in 1969 making Central Falls, RI their home. They were pioneers of the Colombian community in RI. The family moved to Pawtucket in 1975 and then she and her husband enjoyed Florida during their retirement.
Mrs. Rua always had a smile on her face, she enjoyed helping others establish their lives in the United States. She enjoyed cooking for everyone, gardening but most of all her time spent with her precious family.
She was the devoted mother of Jaime Rua, Maribel Rua, spouse Richard Ricci and the late Farides “Dede” Belliveau, her husband Dean Belliveau, a stepson Humberto Rua, grandchildren, Duane Rua, Gabriela, Emily and Elizabeth Belliveau, Daniela and Ariyanna Rua, her siblings, Bivian Figueroa, Zoriada Delrio and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sonia Camacho, Sari Donado, Ruben Figueroa and Fidia Dominguez, and was devoted to her late nephew Eddie Navarro.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 5pm until 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
